SUMMARY A construction company in Slippery Rock, is looking for someone that wants a career in Purchasing. This department has several Purchasing Managers and an existing admin.
This person will start out as a Purchasing Assistant and be trained and grow into a Purchasing Manager in the next few years. Eventually you will be responsible for purchasing equipment and subcontractor services for the company.
This position will start as a support administrative role, with tasks like creating and sending out purchase orders; tracking items in Excel spreadsheets; running reports and data organization. This person will develop into a leadership role in the department. Delegating tasks, pushing thru orders, communicating, and negotiating with vendors, you will drive the order process.
This is a newly created opportunity due to company growth and upcoming retirement.
Full time Monday - Friday daylight work schedule. Attractive hourly compensation. Benefits are offered.
REQUIREMENTS • Relevant experience in a support or leadership role in a professional office. • Leadership ability that can be developed to drive, motivate, encourage, and organize a team. Ability to reach out to vendors, build rapport and be proactive in pushing orders forward. • Strong communication skills. • Can execute administrative work accurately and to deadlines. • Able to work in a fast-paced environment. • Accuracy and attention to detail. • Team oriented and supportive. • Strong Word and Excel skills. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
