Project Manager, Engineering and Construction

Estimated Starting Salary Is $86,000.00 Based On Experience. This is a management position supporting the Department Director of Engineering and Construction responsible for overseeing daily aspects of the Engineering and Construction Department within the Lee County Port Authority. The position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the $260+ million dollar Terminal Expansion project at the Southwest Florida International Airport. This position may also include coordinating other engineering and construction projects for the Southwest Florida International Airport and the Page Field General Aviation Airport. The primary goal of this individual is to keep all projects on schedule, under budget and fully coordinated. This position requires a significant amount of experience in the management of complex infrastructure improvements through multi-disciplined architectural, engineering, and construction projects.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Extensive experience in managing in house staff and/or outsourced professional service contracts for engineering, construction administration, construction engineering inspection, and construction management services. Extensive knowledge of engineering, construction, construction administration, construction management, and construction engineering inspection principles, and other project development concepts and techniques. General knowledge of quality control and quality assurance principles, as well as Training and Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management/Science or related field. A minimum of ten to fifteen years experience in engineering, construction contract administration/management, program management, or an equivalent combination of training and experience including work with increasingly demanding management responsibility, on large projects either with government or private sector, public works, or airport improvement projects. Any combination of education and experience, which demonstrates ability to perform duties effectively, may be substituted. A professional engineering license in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain one within one year is a plus, but not required. Possession of a valid Florida driver license required. |
