Lavish Automation is seeking a low voltage technician with experience in residential Audio/Video and Home Automation. Lavish is locally owned and has been in business since 1999 and is one of the leading AV contractors in the area - and has been voted the Best Audio Video Showroom in the North Bay (several years running!).
Technician must be highly experienced in Audio/Video and Home Automation. Valid California driver license, clean record, and reliable transportation are required. Pay $25 - $40 DOE
Key Job Responsibilities: •Complete one-room audio/video installs and setup with little or no supervision •Ability to follow construction plans and run a pre-wire with little supervision •Distributed Audio/Video system layout, installation, and configuration •Security camera DVR/NVR installation and configuration •Wired and wireless networking system design, install and setup (VPNs, VLANs, etc.) •Understanding of phone systems and wiring (POTs, SIP, VOIP, etc.) • Home Automation and Lighting Control system design, installation, and programming (any of: Savant, Control4, ELAN, Lutron, URC) •Advanced troubleshooting ability •Ability to manage your schedule and pace yourself for up to three service calls per day.
Minimum Job Requirements: Construction: understanding of basic residential or commercial construction methods, able to read and understand plans and related documentation. Low voltage wiring (network, phones, security, A/V, motorized shading, lighting control, etc.). Must be able to work on ladders, roofs, and in tight areas. Ability to lift and maneuver up to 40 pounds.
Communication: express your thoughts, understand discretion, speak and write clearly, understand and follow verbal and written direction.
Troubleshooting: do you enjoy figuring things out and solving problems? Do electronics or computers just make sense to you? Can you see simpler ways to do things that other people miss?
