Project Coordinator is responsible for administrative coordination and management for the department’s projects program, building condition assessment program and project closeout program. Manages and oversees projects for Facilities Operations regarding any maintenance, repairs, and renovations including the planning, scheduling, coordination, communication, assessments, and budgeting. Coordinates overall logistics involved in any Facilities Operations project, which includes directing general, emergency and preventive maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment, and emergency management systems, etc.
High school diploma and 4 years’ experience in building maintenance, or construction. • Possess a South Carolina Driver’s License (ability to obtain within 30 days) • Proficient in Microsoft WORD and EXCEL. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Job Requirements: • 4 year degree and 6 years’ experience in building maintenance, or construction. • Knowledge of scheduling software programs such Microsoft Project • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification • Leed Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position include the following: • A general knowledge of building systems and components. • A general knowledge of maintenance and repair processes and procedures for building systems and components. • Knowledge of architectural, structural and building construction work methods, materials and practices. • Knowledge of standards, technical specifications, regulatory codes and safety regulations pertaining to the work performed. • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, operating manuals, diagrams and charts of a complex technical nature. • Knowledge of planning techniques cost estimating & scheduling of assets to meet deadlines. • Knowledge of principles of building design, building codes, construction, and materials necessary to repair, renovate & maintain College facilities. • Ability to plan, organize, supervise and inspect the work of skilled maintenance personnel. • Ability to write detailed Scopes of Work for various MEP, Renovation and Construction projects. • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills. • Exceptional attention to detail, specifically in accuracy of calculations and completeness of data. • Proficient in the use of personal computers for the preparation of detailed Project Schedules and Building Condition Assessment reports. • Knowledge and skill in computer applications and related programs in support of business activities.
