Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. Every faculty member is responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.
The Division of Business, Creative and Performing Arts at Guilford Technical Community College seeks an energetic, enthusiastic and collaborative educator to join our team as a part-time Advertising and Graphic Design program instructor teaching Photography, Digital Imaging, and other related courses. Under the supervision of the Department Chair, this individual will prepare and teach courses designed to support our Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree program. While additional teaching opportunities may exist in other courses within the design program, dependent on the skillset and background of the candidate, the immediate need is for a professional experienced in Photography and Digital Image production in a commercial setting, with preference given to those with Videography expertise.
The successful candidate should be prepared to integrate technology skills into the classroom, be available to teach at times and locations that meet the needs of students, and be committed to working constructively with all facets of our program within a community college setting. This faculty position will complement and broaden our graphic design program as we look to expand the concentration's curricular offerings to include emerging areas in new media. Therefore, the ideal candidate would also have specialization in one or more areas related to: motion design, time-based media, video production, interactive media design, UI and UX design, Web Design, animation, and/or traditional print design.
Successful applicants will be placed into our pool of adjuncts to be assigned sections or serve as substitute instructors on an as needed basis.
