Portland State University's Facilities and Property Management (FPM) is hiring an Analyst Programmer to lead the configuration and support of online applications and back-end systems related to the department's proprietary computerized maintenance management software, used campus-wide to facilitate efficient facilities and construction support for the campus community. The Analyst Programmer collaborates with multiple campus stakeholders to identify business and process needs; configure, launch, and maintain interfaces that improve productivity of departments and work groups; and ensures an optimal user experience for the campus community. They work with colleagues with varying levels of technical knowledge to analyze workflows, and propose technical solutions to maximize efficiency. The position also provides back-up support to other technical team members that may require cross-training.

Proven ability to independently organize and prioritize work across multiple assignments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to foster a highly collaborative work environment and work effectively across multiple campus departments and organizations in the adoption, utilization and support of software
Experience working in an IT support role
Ability to generate and read SQL queries or routines
Experience with AssetWorks AiM proprietary CMMS or similar system
Experience analyzing business processes or workflows and determining the best option for addressing errors, inefficiencies, and implementing improvements.
Experience with Java, JSF 2.0 MVC, SOAP, and ReST APIs to implement server-side logic
Experience with open-source report writing software such as BIRT
Experience with business intelligence software suite such as Pentaho
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
IT support role experience in higher education and/or a facilities management environment
