The Campus Landscape Equipment/Equipment Shop Supervisor provides on-site supervision for repair, procurement and inventory tracking of all campus landscape equipment and fuel projects associated with the Campus Landscape Shop and Compound.
1. Leads activities and operations of the shop to ensure that all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner. 2. Performs repair and maintenance on all Campus Landscape vehicles (trucks, tractors, mowers, carts, etc.) and provides oversight for preventive maintenance activities for equipment. 3. Supervises the landscape and horticulture crew members on scheduled routine daily maintenance (blade changing, greasing, air filter replacement, etc.) of mowers and equipment to ensure efficient production of the equipment and prolong the life of the equipment. 4. Repairs, overhauls, and keeps landscape machinery, equipment, and vehicles operating properly, including tractors, mowers, carts, trucks, and other mechanized, electrically powered or motor-driven equipment. 5. Plans and organizes maintenance scheduling so that appropriate personnel and materials are available for the project. 6. Responsible for shop purchasing, and internal auditing of equipment, fuel level monitoring and procurement when needed as well as other supplies and associated documentation. 7. Maintains open and collaborative interaction at all levels of the team to keep abreast of preventive maintenance, warranty maintenance repair, service, or inventory activity within department; and maintains equipment warranty files. 8. Evaluates proposed jobs for the station. 9. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned and required associated with campus landscape inventory and supervisory of the equipment shop.
Supervisory Responsibility: Provides supervision on daily and weekly maintenance of landscape and horticulture crew members while they perform the required maintenance for assigned equipment. Train all employees on 'the proper use and tracking of fuel for equipment and vehicles to ensure proper data is provided to internal audit and state agencies.
Education High School/Trade School Mechanical aptitude, team oriented, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience (yrs.) Five years Progressive work experience in automotive, small engine, and/or landscape equipment repair.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1. Constant movement, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Frequently ascends/descends ladders to perform work. Frequently operates machinery and will use hands/fingers and legs to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position materials. Frequently required to stand and walk, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. 2. Specific vision abilities required including close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 3. Constantly required to communicate with ability to talk and hear. 4. Job requires some exposure to elements. This can include heavy to moderate noise, extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, proximity to electrical energy, exposure to tools and machines used in construction industries. 5. Occasional-routine deadlines; involves exposure to demands and pressures from person other than immediate supervisor.
