We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Control Systems Automation Engineer to join our projects team. Requirements of the role:
Bachelors/BTech degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge, industry application knowledge
Typically a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
A technical knowledge within control systems applications throughout the project lifecycle from initial design concepts through implementation and testing to installation and subsequent client support.
Experience in PLC, HMI, SCADA and/or FactoryTalk Software will be a distinct advantage.
Knowledge of Batch Process Control, ISA-S88 standard programming.
Knowledge of ISA-101 and ISA-18.2 HMI and Alarming standards
Flexibility in approach to work and the ability to work within a team environment with high energy levels.
Experience with Rockwell Automation Products hardware and software product suites (ControlLogix, Logix 5000, FT View, FT Historian and FT VantagePoint.) experience.
Experience with industrial communications networks, such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, ControlNet
Control System Architecture Design( Client Server); including Virtual Server design experience preferred
Good problem-solving skills coupled with a strong aptitude to learn and innovate.
Excellent communications and documentation skills are key requirements.
Responsibilities of the role:
Member of a project team tasked with delivering process control system solution projects on Rockwell Automation's PlantPAx DCS.
Analyses customer's requirements to determine the optimal process control system solution and determines applicable control configuration/architecture.
Design and Testing of control system software including control modules, equipment modules, graphics, alarms, safety interlocks etc.
Generating detailed design documents and testing documents.
May provide on-site process control system start-up as required.
Participates in the design, implementation, test and startup phases of complex systems projects.
Develop proficiency in ControlLogix Programming, Equipment Phase, Equipment Module, Control Module, SCADA, Network Distributed HMI, Drives (AB), knowledge of various communication protocols, e.g. Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Modbus communication.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.
Must have excellent conflict resolution skills.
Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays to meet customer project commitments.
Must perform duties in the office or outside the office as part of a project team.
Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial plants, which may require climbing, working in confined spaces and other unusual work environments.
Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction, mentorship and learning.
Interacts with Project Management, hardware design, purchasing, and assembly personnel in support of project efforts.
Obtains product technical information from other business units of RA as required.
Responsible for meeting project schedule, engineering hours budgets, and customer satisfaction targets.
Builds partnerships at a technical level of key customers.
Should be commercially aware of the impact to the business of selecting and developing the project design and implementation
May present and develop technical aspects of sales proposals to customers.
Responsible for following all applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position.
Expected to deliver a number of sales opportunities and leads through direct involvement with customers, during a project and post implementation
Responsible for delivering projects that meet the quality systems of the customer and the business unit
