Faegre Drinker has an opportunity for a Professional Development Manager to work with our Professional Development team in our Washington, D.C., Minneapolis, Philadelphia or Chicago office. You will be part of a dynamic team and will be dedicated to managing all aspects of the career development initiatives that build skills and support the professional growth for the firm’s consulting professionals and paraprofessionals. This position will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for doing great work in the best interest of our clients.
What you would do in this job:
•Manages and implements the annual performance evaluation process, as well as any check-in programs, for consulting professionals and paraprofessionals, the Director of Legal Performance & Compensation and other operational professionals to ensure meaningful feedback and goal development is provided as part of the annual evaluation process •Manages the compliance review of the completed performance evaluations ensuring effectiveness, transparency and constructive feedback •Working with the Director of Legal Performance & Compensation and others, the Manager is responsible for managing the compensation and bonus program for consulting professionals and paraprofessionals firm wide •Engages in efforts to work with Practice Group Leadership and Professional Development to address issues, promote retention and foster high-functioning collaborative teams •Manages and implements the consulting professional firm integration initiatives and efforts •Manages the consulting professional Mentor/Advisor Program •Special projects and other duties as assigned

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent •At least five years of experience working in a comparable position in a law firm or in a human resources setting •Professional services background in a midsize or large law, lobbying, or consulting firm setting strongly preferred •Demonstrated experience working with a multi-level professional compensation program(s) •Strong experience with implementing and/or managing performance evaluation programs •High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Outlook and Excel) •Strong experience in working within databases along with demonstrated experience in performing detailed data analysis •Experience in building or enhancing evaluation and/or compensation programs for individuals who bill hours to clients a plus
