About the Position: Facilities Management is committed to planning, developing, and maintaining a safe, sustainable, and high quality learning and working environment for the campus community. Facilities Management provides oversight of university resources and assets and is responsible for the development of the University's facilities including land use planning, capital improvement, project development, construction, as well as facilities operations and maintenance including custodial services, landscape services, building trade services, mechanical and electrical, and recycling services. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Planning team as the Campus Planner. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
The Campus Planner reports to the Director of Design and Construction, or their designee, and will be responsible for directing and managing a wide range of planning, space management/reporting tasks, campus strategic initiatives, providing technical and planning expertise to other staff and project teams in the office and across campus, and providing and performing project management services. The Campus Planner has expertise in higher education planning processes, is strategic in planning practices, is an inclusive leader, and aligns their work with the mission, goals, and strategic plan of the division and university. Has the ability to develop strong relationships and works well with a diverse community of staff, faculty, and students. This position serves as the direct liaison with the Chancellor's Office planning department and will be a resource for a variety of planning projects that include capital outlay plans, campus master plans, and space utilization studies, along with leading feasibility studies that include conceptual design and programming studies for academic, support and auxiliary facilities. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in architecture, engineering, urban planning, construction management, business administration, accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years planning experience demonstrating the application of the methods, practices and procedures of facilities and space planning, capital project design and construction, fiscal management, budgetary preparation, scheduling and control techniques. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Excellent skills in developing and maintaining effective and collegial working relationships. Experience supervising technical and administrative staff. Current computer knowledge and skills with the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree preferred in a related field. Experience with managing and coordinating space for a program. Relevant experience in Higher Education. Licensed Architect/Engineer.
