ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER, CONSTRUCTION , Facilities-Campus Construction , to be responsible for supporting MIT's campus-wide sustainability and climate action goals within the built environment. Will manage multiple small, basic complexity projects simultaneously, meeting budget and deliverable schedules; coordinate efforts with planning and design staff to review drawings and specifications for conformance with engineering practices and Institute requirements. The mission of the SPT group is to lead MIT's commitment toward a high-performance campus by addressing the entire life cycle of its built environment. SPT integrates a whole-building, systems approach into the planning, design, and construction process; drives best practices for operation and efficient performance of existing systems; and leads a quality turnover process.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of relevant experience; basic knowledge and understanding of relevant Massachusetts' building codes and regulations; basic knowledge and understanding of Massachusetts' energy efficiency codes and regulations and sustainability standards such as LEED, ILFI, and Fitwel, etc.; and excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines as required by the specific project; effectively manage and organize large amounts of data; work independently to resolve basic issues and recognize when to escalate; give presentations and prepare written reports for internal and external audiences; persuade, influence, negotiate, and form alliances with a variety of peers/clients; listen to other opinions and incorporate those ideas into the work plan; collaborate with a team of professionals; and delegate.
