Manage and supervise all maintenance functions for the College and Monastery to meet campus wide needs and minimize disruptions to business operations. Assists with Project Management and construction services.
Key Results/Responsibilities:
Supervise skilled trades including but not limited to, boiler operations, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing.
Ability to hire, direct, and manage architects, engineers, and design professionals.
Arrange for and manage service contracts such as HVAC controls, fire control systems, elevators etc…
Develop and manage smaller scale projects and assist Director with managing major construction projects.
Hire contract services to meet staffing short falls and needed expertise in all areas of maintenance and repairs.
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal codes as it applies to facilities management.
Provide response on urgent and emergency off hours issues.
Subject to occasional travel.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Bachelors degree in engineering or related field, or trade school graduate with 5 or more years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid drivers license required.
In depth knowledge of the following areas:
building trades, general facilities maintenance and construction methods.
all types of building utility and infrastructure systems.
Steam plant operations.
General safety practices as related to maintenance.
OSHA requirements for general industries.
Computerized preventative maintenance programs.
Electrical, mechanical, and utility distribution systems.
Knowledge of safety procedures, building codes etc…
Ability to select, train and supervise skilled trades.
Experience in developing and managing annual operating and capital budgets.
Ability to be extremely mobile (be on feet for up to eight hours a day).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to act as on-call manager on duty on various weekends & holidays.
