Oversees the day to day operations of the recreation facilities including university Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (CRWC), Gertner Field, CRWC Field, and tennis courts.
Directs the recruitment, selection, supervision, payroll, and evaluation of staff and students; provide guidance, and is responsible for professional development and training for staff.
Oversees facilities and operations, facility inspections, cleanliness, maintenance, and documentation; works with Facility Services to develop routine and preventative maintenance plans, procedures and oversees the execution.
Monitor expenses and revenue goals, identify opportunities for fundraising, sponsorship and grants to support operations and facility improvements.
Responsible for repair and replacement of equipment, as well as coordinate work requests with Plant Operations and contractors or other vendors.
Contributes to the long-term planning and execution of minor planned projects including capital renovation and construction projects; serves as project manager as needed and works with university Facilities Planning and Construction, architects, and contractors on all phases of each project.
Assess, evaluate, and mitigate risk for all facilities to ensure compliance with university, local, and state standards, and follow industry standards; collaborate with department safety committee, maintain records, incident and accident reports and follow ups.
Oversee facility reservations between all internal and external groups, issue user agreements and ensures compliance with UH and departmental guidelines and procedures for events, logistics and event management as needed.
Cultivate partnerships with internal and external partners, contribute to the development and execution of partner agreements and the scheduling and execution of events.
Performs other job-related duties as required.

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) year of directly job-related experience.
