Pay Range: $19.13 per hour or higher depending on education and experience

Position Summary: The roofer is responsible for maintenance and repair of university building roofing systems and a variety of building facades. The position will also participate in building, repairing and maintaining university structures. Cover roofs of structures with shingles, slate, asphalt, aluminum, wood, or related materials. May spray roofs, sidings, and walls with material to bind, seal, insulate, or soundproof sections of structures.
This is an essential position that will be called upon in the event of an emergency and/or University closure.
Combination of education and work experience totaling three (3) years directly related to commercial roofing, with experience in these roofing types; Flat seam metal, raised metal, asphalt shingle, single ply membrane, built-up roofs
Using drafting software and/or applications, word processing
Experience with building techniques involved with new and remodel construction as well as technical practices associated with construction.
Experience following best practices for workplace safety while using power tools, roofing equipment and materials in the field.
Tile masonry work experience as it applies to roofs and exteriors.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Physical ability to: lift and/or otherwise moves items weighing approximately 90 pounds; bend, stoop, climb and work from ladders; stand and walk continuously throughout the work shift; and work around dust and fumes and in various weather conditions.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear
Required Licensures, Certifications or other
Must possess a valid motor vehicle operators license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving University vehicles.
