Job Summary
Serves as Team Lead for the Floor Care Technicians. Coordinates tasks and assignments. Trains new and existing employees on new equipment and floor care processes. Responsible for providing additional oversight for all floor care processes related to the EVS scope of services. Assists with staff retention improvement activities and patient experience and satisfaction initiatives. Contributes to department quality initiatives and programs and serves as a member of the EVS Management team.
Job Specific Duties
Oversees and assigns tasks to the Floor Technicians under the direction of the EVS Manager, including ensuring that tasks are complete appropriately and customers are satisfied.
Cleans and maintain the floor of assigned work areas.
Cleans emergency spills and debris as needed.
Trains new hires on the Floor Technician role, including appropriate utilization of machines and maintenance/cleaning, inventory control, and appropriate use of equipment/machine for specific floor functions. Also trains all employees regarding new equipment or processes, tag out/tag in system, and provides annual training as assigned.
At start and end of shift, checks all equipment used by staff for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness and mechanical problems. Instructs designated personnel to correct deficiencies.
Assigns equipment, including but not limited to keys, floor machines, EVS work stations/carts, electronic devices, radios, or keys, to assigned staff. Maintains accurate record of such assignments and ensure security of floor care equipment.
Assists leaders in ensuring distribution of assignment to ensure all daily tasks are covered. Also assists in communicating additions or changes to the assignment as they arise throughout the shift.
Performs minor equipment repair as needed.
Performs supply control and inventory duties as needed.
Immediately reports safety hazards and defects to leaders.
Performs preventative and corrective floor care tasks.
Performs special cleaning procedures.
As part of department's established Q&A, inspects areas and rooms to confirm cleaning standards have been met.
Assists staff to ensure highest standards of cleanliness and service.
Takes a customer centered approach when addressing the needs of and interacting with patients, visitors, guests, team members and other health care workers. Responds to concerns and requests with a sense of urgency and takes corrective action to include timely follow up.
Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.
Provides coverage for leaders on weekend shifts, as needed.
