MBF Architects, PA has an immediate opening for a Project Architect with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in design and construction documents. We are looking for someone that has the ability to manage projects and support staff, to blend in with a small office atmosphere, and provide prompt and friendly customer service to clients.

MBF Architects has been serving Eastern North Carolina for over 25 years. Our office is located in a restored historic building in beautiful downtown New Bern and is an hour drive to the closest beach. Like most small firms, we provide design services for a variety of clients including planning, code study, small commercial, new construction, up-fits, renovation, historic rehabilitation, and residential projects. A significant specialty of our firm is providing design services for the Government at military installations.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage projects through all phases of design, including concept drawings, design development, technical documentation and construction administration
• Coordinate documentation with the consultant team
• Lead all aspects of the construction administration phase including meetings, submittals and preparation of field sketches
• Develop solutions to technical and design problems
• Must be able to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects
• Some travel required

Qualifications

• Professional registration (minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed professional)
• Competency in the REVIT, AutoCad and general MS Office programs
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
• Federal Government work experience a plus
• LEED or GGP accreditation a plus
• Ability to obtain government clearance a must
• Positive attitude
