The University of Missouri - St. Louis, a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Athletics for Special Events / Game Management/ Facilities. The University of Missouri-St. Louis is a Division II institution and sponsors 13 collegiate sports. This is a 12-month full time benefited position.
Basic Functions and Responsibilities
To direct, manage, and plan for the external management of all home athletic events, outside rentals and scheduling of the Mark Twain Gymnasium and facilities, and maintenance of indoor and outdoor athletic facilities. In addition, this position will assume major administrative responsibilities for the assigned areas and representation of the department with other campus units.
Characteristic Duties
Act as the official spokesperson for the Mark Twain Facility and Department of Athletics for general departmental interpretations.
Assist in the planning, evaluation and implementation of all activities and revenue generated opportunities.
Ensure that all assigned units are operated in compliance with University and NCAA rules and regulations.
Provide leadership, administrative support and supervision to all persons in the assigned units of responsibility including the internal and external operations.
Participate on campus committees and communicate with the general public, addressing complaints, policy and procedures and other requests regarding facilities and programming.
Develop rules and regulations for special events activities through the structure of a resources guide.
Create media outlets through the use of internet, newspapers, special programming for publicizing activities.
Create necessary reports, updates, summaries, etc. of department activities.
Develop strategies to increase net income, identify sources of funding for programs and services, and create new revenues.
Ensure that all activities and personnel adhere to university and NCAA compliance rules and regulations as they pertain to students and student-athletes.
Oversee the ordering and selling of concession sales at all home events.
Assist the Coordinator of Sports Sponsorship / Marketing with other departmental projects as assigned.

Pay Range: $50,000 - $55,000 annually

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters preferred. Three to five years experience in game management operations, excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong organizations and interpersonal skills, demonstrated successful management skills, ability to use relevant software; knowledge of or willingness to learn NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations and to abide by them.
