The Design Consultant provides design services to customers, enters and manages orders, and coordinates general business activities and the needs of Louisville Tile’s clients through courteous and timely service. Serves as the first point of contact for clients, setting the “tone” of the Louisville Tile experience with new and existing customers.

Shows strong problem-solving abilities in order to address challenges such as construction delays and the high cost or sudden unavailability of selected materials, while keeping the project on time and within budget.
Provides a sense of visualization demonstrating a strong sense of proportion and visual awareness to understand how pieces of a design will fit together to create the intended interior environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Maintains a pleasant demeanor and commitment to customer service
Actively promotes and sells product with attention to gross margin dollars
Demonstrates attention to opportunities to up-sell a selection
Serves as the first point of contact for clients thus setting the tone of the experience
Remains current on product offerings and pricing and the time needed to conduct certain services
Manages the appointment calendar and work in walk-in clients when possible
Determines the client’s goals and requirements of the project
Sketches preliminary design plans
Enters customer selections in Selection Sheet Manager
Is accurate with order entry
Updates clients on status of order frequently
Manages and updates samples, including ordering, organizing, and providing samples for customers.
Follows up on potential sales by staying in contact with customers and review of open Selection Sheets.
Maintains up-to-date, tidy, and professional appearance of the showroom and displays.
Builds a referral relationship with potential referral sources such as designers, architects, home builders, remodelers, installers, dealers, etc.
Prepares for and attends trade shows and home shows.
Develops trusting relationships with builder and dealer customers to ensure continued wholesale sales are not negatively affected by the existence of a showroom.
