Job Summary
Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated projects. Represents Owner/Client in day to day activities required to manage a construction project.
Essential Functions
Ability to work in a field office setting
Read and understand plans and specs
Communicate effectively in person and via technology
Enter confined spaces
Walk, stand, crawl, climb and stoop for extended periods of time on jobsites
Position will require work outside of normal workhours to meet project requirements, contractor’s schedule and company responsibilities
Possessing an unsuspended and unrestricted driver’s license may be a condition of employment dependent upon work requirements
Use of computer, iPad, and other office equipment
Other Functions
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Provide management support for any construction related matter
Direct construction observation and contract administration activities at project site
Direct and coordinate activities of construction management team
Monitor schedule and budget
Prepare monthly progress payment estimates of work completed and approves payment for contractors
Manage projects by analyzing reports, maps, specifications, drawings, tests, photographs, etc.
Prepare or direct preparation of correspondence between contractor and owner and designer including submittals, requests for information, change order requests and design clarifications
Negotiates change orders and recommends acceptance by the owner/client
Analyze construction claims related to additional compensation and time
Dependent on project staffing, may also be responsible for the same duties as defined in the Inspector and Project Engineer job descriptions
Position will periodically require travel between project sites; it is the individual’s responsibility to provide their own transportation for such purposes
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Must have graduated with an engineering, construction management or architecture degree
Must have a minimum of five years of related work experience
Must have a certificate of registration as a professional engineer, a certificate in construction management or be a licensed architect
Must be able to speak fluent English as well as write grammatically correct English
This position requires a working knowledge of Office 365: Word, Excel, SharePoint.
Knowledge of ProCore, Primavera P6 and other scheduling software is desirable
Must be able to work both independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team atmosphere in order to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
