Greystar is looking for a Director, Design Management to work intimately with the project architects, design teams, and Greystar development/preconstruction teams to manage schedule, drawing quality, and ensure that the Greystar National Standards are incorporated into each project's design.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinating, preparing and scheduling the project's Design Kickoff meeting.
Working with Development to prepare project and update design schedules.
Participating in project Due Diligence meetings to identify and address project design issues and elements.
Participating in project site planning and visioning meetings to establish the early layout of the project and ensure a consistent vision for the project is applied throughout the design process.
Producing and maintaining a standard list of deliverables for each consultant at each stage of the design process above and ensuring that the design teams are consistently designing towards those milestones.
Establishing a project permitting plan and schedule to ensure that all required submissions are complete and submitted on time.
Assisting Development in tracking open items and necessary decisions to ensure timely direction is given to the design team and Construction.
Ensuring that all projects include all of the relevant Greystar National Standards in the GMP and IFC sets and working closely with Greystar National Quality Control to keep all projects current with respect to any updates to the Greystar National Standards.
Working with Preconstruction to review all qualifications and clarifications provided by Greystar Construction or 3rd party general contractors.
Working with the Development and Preconstruction teams to ensure that all unit finishes are selected, unit plans are approved, and an interior designer is approved to begin design by the beginning of Design Development Documents.
Working with the Development partners to propose programmatic changes to improve efficiency, logistics, design.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in architecture, building construction, civil engineering, or related field. Master's Degree with a concentration in architecture, building construction, civil engineering, or related field is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in multifamily architecture or design management, with much of that experience in construction administration being preferred.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, contractors, and vendors
Strong computer skills including Revit, AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Outlook and Bluebeam.
