UAB Transportation is seeking a Program Coordinator I (Customer Service) to assist with the front-desk of the office and to provide excellent guest service! UAB Transportation is a high traffic area. The incumbent must display a personality that is warm, welcoming and personable. Additionally, under minimal supervision, performs departmental specific office and clerical duties of a moderately complex nature. Work may consist of maintaining departmental databases, records and files, and gathering and interpreting data to construct detailed reports. Will handle confidential information.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, between 7:00AM - 5:00PM(Subject to change to accommodate the needs of the University)
Starting Pay Range:Commensurate with experience & qualifications
High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience required. Previous experience working in a fast-paced office environment with many distractions helpful. This is a heavy traffic/heavy customer service position. Must be able to maintain professionalism under stressful situations.
Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current underwriting guidelines include possession a valid driver's license, issued in the United States; at least 21 years of age; at least three years of driving experience; maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
Greeting and welcoming all customers in a professional and courteous manner
Building rapport and offering solutions to all customers
Utilizing several computer software
Assisting customers with parking related matters
Handling cash/credit transactions
Maintaining departmental databases
Receiving phone calls from internal and external customers
Updating records and files
Assisting management in preparation for special activities
Required to possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform the duties and responsibilities that require performing tasks requiring staringand sitting at a computer screen for long periods of time, lifting,bending, stooping, kneeling, walking significant distances between and within buildings, and climbing stairs.
Seeking candidates with very pleasant disposition, who are comfortable being front and center, and who enjoy communicating with internal and external customers. Oracle a plus, but not required. Microsoft Office, specifically Excel required. Must be detail oriented and comfortable with spreadsheets and analyzing data--accuracy a must.
