This position is responsible for the supervision of Transmission Maintenance employees, and the, planning, and coordination of the construction and maintenance of all 69 and 138KV transmission lines and right-of-ways.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates with engineering and substation maintenance to ensure compliance of NERC
Maintains and develops ongoing knowledge of NERC standards
Prepares long-range plans for system inspection, repairs, and right of way maintenance
Performs switching of the Transmission
Maintains maintenance and inspection records of the 69/138kv line and structure
Resolves customer complaints and answer customers' questions regarding department management policies and procedures.
Resolves right-of-way issues with customers
Supervises the replacement of transmission poles, cross arms, and insulators
Responds to and manages transmission line restoration due to weather, equipment malfunction or damage
Supervises employees to ensure adherence to
Provides employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes
Implements corporate and departmental policies and Discuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and work to resolve problems
Interprets and communicates work procedures and company policies to staff
Develops and review operating procedures
Develops and manage department budget
Establish work priorities and activities
Recommends promotions, transfers, hires and other disciplinary action
Establishes metrics and prepare monthly reports
Coordinates activities with other departments
Creates, maintains, and plans work
Maintain the security of confidential information

Supervisory and/or Leadership Responsibilities
A full range of supervisory activities including, but is not limited to, training, evaluation, counseling and recommendation for termination. This includes, but is not limited to, effectively communicating organizational policies and other information to subordinates, ensuring that employees have a clear understanding of their responsibilities.

Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of heavy transportation equipment, e., boom, bucket, and digger trucks

Skilled in establishing and communicating performance expectations and metrics
Skilled in time management
Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities

Ability to use computer systems and applications
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to listen and understand information verbally and in writing
Six years of electrically qualified utility experience to include construction and maintenance of 69kv and 138kv transmission systems.
Two years of leadership experience
Valid Texas driver’s license
