Under the general supervision of the Building Trades Supervisor and/or Foreman, perform all phases of interior and exterior carpentry work consisting of layout, construction, alteration and repair of floors, roofs, walls, stairways, doors (including installation, alteration, and removal of door hardware), windows, (including glazing), ceilings, and other structures. Operate power tools and hand tools; clean and repair hand tools. Make minor repairs to office furniture, such as desks, cabinets, bookcases, etc. Position will require working in a non-carpentry capacity when necessary, as well as, but not limited to responding to overtime and emergency call-ins as required or directed to ensure proper plant operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have at least three to five years of experience as a journeyman-level carpenter. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and transport piping and equipment more than 200 lbs. with others. May use chain falls and come along for heavier lifting. Must be able to push and pull heavy loads as required. Must be able to stoop and bend for prolonged periods of time; work on hands and knees and other awkward positions for extended periods; routinely walk to and from various buildings carrying tools, equipment, and other essentials to the job site. Must be able to work alone and climb multiple sets of stairs, work off ladders, staging, lifts, etc. Must have computer knowledge and ability to receive, send, compose, and send precise and understandable electronic work orders. Must be able to work overtime as required.

All University staff members must successfully complete a 90-day probationary period.
Position's schedule is Monday through Friday, 6AM - 2:30PM.
