The base salary range for this position is $90,000-$140,000. The salary range is determined by education, experience and additional role-related considerations. JANSEN Combustion and Boiler Technologies, Inc. is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our Design and Construction group. The desired candidate will have knowledge and experience in design of large industrial power boiler systems including boiler pressure parts, combustion air, flue gas, and boiler auxiliary systems.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Preparation of process flow diagrams and conceptual designs for support of sales efforts.
Writing proposals, creating cost estimates and preliminary scope of work and schedule.
Site visits to gather dimensional information and client drawings to design new equipment.
Preparation of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code calculations.
Piping design and pipe stress calculations.
Coordinating mechanical designs with the Lead Designer to create fabrication drawings for new equipment.
Performing shop inspections for purchased and in-house designed equipment.
Providing Construction Observation during the installation of the equipment.
Qualified Candidates will have:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years’ experience in related work.
Obtained an EIT license with the ability to get a PE license.
The ability to travel up to 10% - 20% of the year.
Experience in the following design / engineering standards – ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code; ASTM materials and B31.1; National Board Inspection Code (NBIC).
The strong ability to read flow diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical layout and structural drawings and be able to visualize and convey design concepts for existing and new equipment.
Team player with good communication skills to work with other engineering disciplines, designers, vendors and clients.
The ability to work productively with minimal supervision and be self-motivated with project organizational skills.
Field experience with an interest in learning and supporting other aspects of boiler design are a plus.
The ability to work in our office located in Kirkland, WA. Please note this position is not eligible for remote working.
