Location: Westchester Campus,
Provide and ensure quality housing accommodations, programs and services for Loyola Marymount University students. Lead and oversee the Resident Services staff team including direct supervision of the Housing Services Manager, the Assistant Director of Operations and the Assistant Director of Occupancy and Systems. Coordinate auxiliary services provided for students living in university housing. Establish processes and enforce policies related license agreements, building occupancy, assignments and record maintenance for approximately 3700+ students living in approximately seventeen facilities, including on and off-campus owned and leased properties.
This is a live-on position which includes participation in the 24-hour Assistant Director on-call duty rotation.
Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate all Resident Services staff directly or indirectly.
Act as primary liaison to university departments such as Admissions, Financial Aid, Disability Support Services, Registrar, Athletics, Student Accounts, ITS, Campus Business Services, Dining Services, Conferences and Events, etc.
Work in partnership with the Associate Director of Residence Life to ensure collaboration and clear communication for all processes and procedures.
Develop and recommend housing rates and develop departmental operating budgets. Monitor housing occupancy, revenues and expenses. Provide fiscal information to university administration as requested.
Oversee all capital projects. Plan and implement major renovation projects and assist with planning for new student housing construction. Coordinate university facilities staff to address on-going facility issues.
Oversee all facilities projects located in Student Housing and delegation of Resident Services responsibilities related to these projects.
Oversee all Emergency Management processes and procedures related to residential facilities and services in conjunction with the Associate Director of Residence Life
Represent the Student Housing Office to prospective and current students and their families. Advocate for resident students to on and off campus constituencies.
Represent the university to professional organizations and associations. Serve on committees as required or appointed. Assume leadership when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Housing.

Minimum 3 to 5 years student residence life experience in progressively responsible positions. Experience supervising professional staff preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of student housing practices and procedures; principles of student development and counseling; interculturalism; staff development, motivation and performance appraisal; needs assessment and programming; learning outcomes assessment; staff training methods; crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques; student judicial processes, legal issues relevant to student housing and student conduct.
Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) with individuals and groups. Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and executive summaries that document student learning and development.
Highly developed organizational and leadership skills essential. Ability to make sound decisions in emergency and crisis situations necessary.
Experience and familiarity with the goals of Catholic higher education and demonstrated ability incorporating spiritual development and pastoral programming in a residential setting.
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. A Master's Degree in college student personnel, counseling, business administration is desirable. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
$72,500.00 - $98,400.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
