The City of Klamath Falls is seeking an Assistant City Engineer who will serve as a liaison of the City, actively engaging the community on projects while also seeking opportunities to work with other City divisions and departments. The Assistant City Engineer, working under the direction of the City Engineer, plays an integral role in the management and performance of top-level professional civil engineering work. The position provides administrative solutions to complex problems that arise in the design, review, and construction of City infrastructure and related development projects.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college; and a minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible design, construction management, inspection, plan check and complex development and land use review experience. Experience with the design and construction of Water or Wastewater infrastructure and pavement management is highly desired. A Master’s degree may substitute for some experience. Incumbents must be registered as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Oregon or registered as a Professional Civil Engineer in a reciprocal state with the ability to obtain Oregon registration. A valid Oregon driver’s license is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
