Campus Facility Services (CFS) is proud to provide all IUPUI students, faculty, staff, and visitors with a high-quality physical environment. We provide maintenance, grounds and custodial services for more than 70 buildings and parking garages and over 300 acres of lawns, trees, plantings, sidewalks and parking lots. The department is also a frequent partner with IU Capital Projects on campus renovation projects and new construction initiatives.

Schedules, assigns, and monitors work of custodial workers and/or moving and setup workers.
Takes inventory of supplies and places orders as necessary to maintain stock levels.
Serves as on-site trainer to explain work procedures and to demonstrate use and care of cleaning equipment.
Acts as project leader for routine and non-routine work. Reviews and executes work orders. Guides the work of moving and setup workers in preparation for conferences, meetings, and events. Arranges tables, chairs, and furniture. Sets up public address systems and related equipment.
Acts in relief of custodial workers, group leaders, and supervisors, performing custodial duties as needed.
Operates van/passenger vehicle to transport mobile crews to various building sites. May operate box truck, packer truck, or forklift.
Qualifications
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.
EDUCATION
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (such as GED or HSED).
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
1 year of custodial/moving and set-ups experience and demonstrated leadership skills.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Required
Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by Indiana University upon date of hire.
Knowledge of standard operating procedures for all equipment, materials, cleaning methods, and care and maintenance of such equipment.
Knowledge of tools and equipment used in the moving of very large and heavy items.
Ability to operate all manual and power cleaning equipment and snow removal equipment.
Ability to communicate orally and in written format with custodial personnel and other staff.
Ability to effectively lead, direct, instruct, and interact with custodial personnel.
Ability to maintain safety certifications and pass required safety training.
Ability to use a computer.
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position as well as the ability to move about the workplace for long durations. It requires effective communication, the ability to operate machinery, tools, and controls. The role requires the ability to ascend/descend ladders/stairs, and to position one's self in low level positions, detect a variety of chemicals and/or gases. The role requires the ability to ascend to rooftops and move in tight spaces to perform and complete inspections. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
