Pine Technical and Community College seeks a temporary part-time Construction Management instructor for 4 credits and possibly more available. The successful candidate will be dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. As a subject matter expert in carpentry having knowledge in plumbing, electrical or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, the selected individual will be a champion of our Construction Technology associate degree by creating learning activities and instruction, fostering industry relationships, and recruiting students. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for education, a desire to expand a skilled labor force in the construction trades, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or construction science.
Occupational Experience Requirement: Two full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in construction management.
Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, OR shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status.
These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. Previous experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning aspects of construction.
Teaching experience at the postsecondary level, preferably at a two-year college
Prior online experience using the D2L Brightspace platform or equivalent information management system
Demonstrated commitment to quality instruction and continuous improvement
Ability to work with a diverse student body with a broad range of interests and abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with students and peers
Experience in curriculum development
Effective planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills
