The University of Tennessee College of Law invites qualified applicants for the position of Director of Communications. The College of Law's Director of Communications is responsible for providing vision, leadership, direction, and management for communications, marketing, branding, and public relations within the College of Law. The director serves as a key member of the college's leadership team, reporting directly to the Dean. The director provides strategic direction and management for all communications, marketing, public relations, and branding efforts, and is responsible for promoting and advancing the college's image and reputation with key stakeholders. This position ensures that materials developed support and advance the college's goals, reflect the highest quality, and meet expectations for return on investment.
Position responsibilities for the Director of Communications include, but are not limited to:
-Develops and executes a holistic, long-term communications, marketing, public relations, and branding plan that aligns with the strategic vision and identity of the College of Law.
-Ensures compliance with the University of Tennessee brand guidelines to support integrated marketing and communications.
-Collaborates with campus and university-level communication officers and administrators to ensure the college is proactively contributing to the university's brand and marketing initiatives.
-Lead and collaborate with the College's communications team to create, review, and revise digital and creative content for the College of Law.
-Provides strategic communication counsel to the Dean and assists with messaging, speeches, and presentations for the Dean as needed.
-Provides direct supervision of communications team members, providing coaching and constructive feedback as well as developing opportunities for personal growth.
-Recruits, retains, and supervises professional vendors and freelancers, as appropriate.
