Primary Function:

To support occupational safety, injury prevention, industrial hygiene and environmental programs at ChristianaCare which provide for the safety of caregivers, patients, visitors and the environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform Incident Investigations and implement corrective actions.

• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis to identify hazards and/or potential hazards and provide recommendations for mitigation.

• Conduct Personal Protective Equipment Assessments.

• Perform Workstation Ergonomic Assessments.

• Conduct Indoor Air Quality Assessments.

• Conduct Exposure Assessments, interpret sampling results, implement corrective actions as needed.

• Conduct Noise Monitoring and oversee the Hearing Conservation Program.

• Assist with Hazardous Waste Management.

• Assist with Hazard Communication Program.

• Support the Patient Decontamination program.

• Support the Construction Safety program.

• Review and revise safety policies and procedures as needed.

• Develop, coordinate and conduct safety training programs and safety initiatives.

• Perform safety and environmental audits as required.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNREC, DOT, Joint Commission and other applicable regulations and standards.

• Ability to use and troubleshoot monitoring equipment.

• Participate on emergency response teams (e.g., Hazardous Materials Response, Confined Space Rescue).

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or other related science.

• Minimum three to five years of experience in Occupational Safety or related field.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, exhibiting high attention to detail.

• Ability to manage time, work independently, and meet deadlines.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

• Valid driver's license required.
