Responsible for all activities related to the care and maintenance of the golf course, grounds, and equipment including overseeing an 18 holes golf course construction. Assists the Director of Agronomy with planning and implementing safety, trainings, procedure, policy, budget, and operating plans. Responsibilities also include applying relevant landscaping, horticultural principles to assure that quality standards are consistently achieved and/or exceeded.
Assist with the development and implementation of a fertilizer, aeration and integrated pest management program for proper turf grass and plant care.
Supervise all planting, fertilizing and care of turf, plants, shrubs, and trees on the golf course and grounds.
Ensures proper mixing, calibration, and application of all chemical/fertilizers used on the course.
Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Assistant Superintendent, 2nd Assistant Superintendent, Head Mechanic, Spray Technician, Equipment Operator, Greenskeeper, and Irrigation Technician.
5 years golf course supervisory and/or management experience at high end or private facility.
Paspalum grow-in experience preferred.
Strong agronomical knowledge of warm season turfgrasses.
Demonstrated experience and capability in the areas of budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, staff management.
Must have the ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
