POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision and according to established procedures, performs repairs and maintenance of hospital and building structures, including preventive maintenance and cleaning of all equipment.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational/technical schooling preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Valid New Mexico driver's license.
Career Ladder Progression: New hires will be hired at Level I if only basic certification and licensure is held at the time of hire. In order to progress or be hired at Level II, 1 additional relevant certification must be attained and maintained. In order to progress to Level III, an additional relevant certification must be attained and maintained (2 certifications in addition to basic requirements) to next level of career ladder. If certification at any level is not renewed and maintained at time of expiration, associate will be moved back to the appropriate level relevant to current certification.
SKILLS:
Building maintenance skills and construction skills required
Hospital equipment repairs preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Two years building maintenance or construction experience required. Hospital setting preferred.

Hazards include infectious waste, cleaning drains, airborne particles, dust, lint, metal, electrical shock, biological waste, high temperatures and gasses. Safety equipment is furnished by the hospital.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy effort is required. Must be capable of lifting and carrying 100 lbs. Must be able to climb and work from ladders up to ten feet in height. Eyesight and hearing must be good. Must be physically able to operate motorized vehicles and have proper licenses
