We have an opportunity for an experienced Agile Product Owner to join its Data & Analytics Division based in Salt Lake City. The primary purpose of this area is to provide consistent, trusted data throughout the Enterprise.The team concentrates on Wealth Management and Affluent data subject area.
The Delivery Product Owner acts as an agile team member, serving as the customer proxy and is responsible for working with product management, and other stakeholders. The product owner will provide team support in an agile environment while defining work and prioritizing the Team Backlog. The Product Owner will play a significant role in the focus of the agile team and will accept stories as completed. He or she will work in a dynamic team environment to effectively deliver functionality needed to support various operations teams.
The Delivery Product Owner will:
Continuously engage with the business, technology and other key stakeholders to stay informed, nurturing strong and trusting relationships and increasing business knowledge to represent product vision and customer/business needs to the team
Provide context for prioritizing and accepting the work demoed by the agile team, specifically ensuring the right value is delivered
Identify opportunities to improve product performance and customer experience
Help identify organizational impediments and works with the leadership team to create effective strategies to overcome them
Exemplify agile principles, encourage good practices, encourage and assist team in maturing
Day to day activities include, but not limited to:
oCreate, own and manage the team backlog
oDirect and work with team members (analysts, data engineers and scrum leader) to ensure accuracy and completeness of business deliverable
oHelp to identify and raise obstacles and allow the team to self-organize
oOther duties as assigned
Technical Experience and Qualifications:
Experience as a Product Owner in a large enterprise utilizing scaling practices, building complex solutions using teams of teams, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), contributing to successful value delivery & agile methodology experience
Advanced SQL skills for data analysis (3-5 years)
Practiced data warehouse experience and release management processes
Curious and Critical thinker with track record of analyzing complex problems, documenting needs and communicating to a variety of audiences required
Technical understanding of data models (e.g., Teradata Financial Data Model, Industry Specific Common Data Model)
Experience with agile framework, values, and principles
Bachelor's degree in information systems, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
Excellent presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, including coaching and mentorship qualities
Excellent decision making, problem resolution, listening and team building skills
Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work with various levels of leadership
Preferred requirements:
SAFe POPM or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification
Experience as a product owner in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Banking experience
A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
Location: This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
