1. To provide excellent service to our members, our fellow employees, and our external stakeholders.
2. To perform distribution line construction and maintenance activities in a safe and professional manner.

Is thoroughly familiar with all safety rules and regulations and practices carrying them out in the performance of duties.

1. Constructs, maintains and operates de-energized or energized distribution lines, substations and apparatus (both underground and overhead) with or without supervision, as directed or required.
2. Assures that the cooperative's vehicles, equipment and supplies are used in a safe manner, kept neat and clean; that all safe driving rules and regulations are strictly adhered to and advises the crew foreman of needed repairs and maintenance.
3. Maintains company issued personal tools, FR clothing, PPE and make sure they are kept in safe working condition.
4. Participates in job training, safety programs and training of lineman as required or directed.
5. Keeps familiar with and proficient in performing first aid, CPR, bloodborne pathogens, pole top resuscitation and forklift training.
6. Assist in taking semi-annual physical inventory of materials, tools and equipment.
7. Notifies crew foreman of any work performed without prior approval when circumstances necessitate and submits sketches of completed work to the crew foreman.
8. Serves as crew foreman as directed or required.
9. Clears or directs the clearing of right-of-way as required.
10. Makes every effort to serve the members courteously and efficiently; to satisfy their complaints or inquiries regarding service if possible, or if unable to do so, refer them to the proper person.
11. Patrols lines to locate defective poles, cross arms, conductors, insulators and hardware as directed and reports findings to the crew leader or takes necessary corrective action.
12. Maintains knowledge of the electric distribution layouts, feeds, circuits and has a thorough understanding of our latest technology.
13. Maintains proper supply of materials, tools and working equipment on your crew trucks in accordance with normal inventory that is already assigned.
14. Prepares time sheets, mileage reports, material tickets and service orders for self and crew when acting as foreman or as required.
15. Checks voltage before leaving job whenever secondary or service has been energized or de-energized or service connection made.
16. Checks load balance and voltage or install recording volt meters as requested or required.
17. Locates source of line trouble and does all possible to clear the source of trouble.
18. Collects bills and fees as directed.
19. Follows all safety rules and regulations.
20. Performs such other duties as required including duties at annual meeting.
21. Participates in or performs daily tailgate sessions.

EDUCATION

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must have a thorough knowledge of distribution line construction, maintenance, sectionalizing, operations, metering and apparatus.  Must have a thorough knowledge of the proper use and operations of line construction equipment, techniques and materials.  Must have thorough understanding of the cooperative's policies and procedures, RUS Spec Book, safety rules and have functional understanding of OSHA, and environmental laws.

 ABILITIES SKILLS

Must be able to plan and construct distribution facilities both overhead and underground and to direct other members of the work crew.  Must be thoroughly capable in distribution line construction techniques both from aerial left and from the pole.  Must be able to operate heavy utility trucks and equipment in variety of weather and terrain conditions.

Education, Training, and Information Cooperatives provide education and training for their members, elected representatives, managers and employees so they can contribute effectively to the development of their cooperatives. They inform the general public, particularly young people and opinion leaders, about the nature and benefits of cooperation. Cooperation Among Cooperatives Cooperatives serve their members most effectively and strengthen the cooperative movement by working together through local, national, regional and international structures. Concern for Community While focusing on member needs, cooperatives work for the sustainable development of their communities through policies accepted by their members.
