Constructs, maintains, and performs minor and major repairs (routine and preventive nature),
renovations, alterations and installations of building structures, components, millwork items and furnishings. Reads, understands and interprets blueprints, drawings, floor plans and schedules, and manufacturers operating and/or maintenance specifications, building structures and finishes. May be called upon to perform, assist or coordinate on a casual basis the work of other maintenance personnel. This includes but is not limited electricians, plumbers, HVAC mechanics, maintenance technicians, painters, masons, plasterers, sheet metal workers, etc. Responds to requests for routine as well as emergency maintenance and service from building occupants.

Performs routine and preventive maintenance to include operating, cleaning, inspecting, troubleshooting, adjusting, tightening, replacing, reporting problems, and other similar tasks on building structures, components, millwork items and furnishings.
May be called upon to perform and coordinate on a casual basis the work of other maintenance personnel or to assist in the completion of their work to include Electricians, Plumbers, HVAC Mechanics, Maintenance Technicians, Painters, Masons, Plasterers, Sheet Metal Workers, etc.
Responds to requests for maintenance and service from building occupants to include emergencies, maintenance problems, requested installations, modifications, repairs and adjustments, and other similar tasks.
Maintains, constructs and performs repairs, renovations, alterations and installations on a wide variety of building materials to include roofs and roof systems, walls, framing and, casings, partitions, ceilings and ceiling grids, floors and floor coverings, door assemblies locks and door hardware, windows, window glazing and treatments, stairs, handrails, cove bases, signage, pictures, bulletin and chalkboards, floor coverings, room furnishings and other similar type items and systems.
Performs routine and preventive maintenance on roofs and roof systems, partitions, doors, locks and door hardware, windows and window treatment items, chalkboards, floor coverings, room furnishings and other similar type items and systems.
Maintains and performs repairs, modifications, fabrications, replacements and installations of cabinets, decorative doors and window and door sills, jambs, moldings, decorative paneling, laminates, veneers, inlays and other similar type millwork items.
Operates mill working equipment to include joiners, shapers, planers, routers, table, band and radial arm saws, sanders and other stationary and portable mill working equipment.
Maintains and performs minor repairs on a wide variety of millwork items and furnishings to include cabinets, chairs, desks, tables, bookcases, decorative moldings and cove bases, paneling and other similar type items.
High School diploma or GED and eight (8) years of related experience required. Carpentry work or cabinet making with similar facilities.
Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current underwriting guidelines include possession a valid driver's license, issued in the United States; at least 21 years of age; at least three years of driving experience; maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Ability to maintain a clean work site and area, that minimally interferes with University's operations
Ability to work alone efficiently, productively, and with minimal supervision
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
Attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with guest, management, and staff
Possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform the duties and responsibilities of this position in a timely manner to include:
Lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds.
Climbing stairs, ladders and scaffolding, and working at heights above thirty (30) feet.
Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus.
Working within extreme temperature and humidity ranges with a variety of materials.
Working in confined spaces
Work Schedule:Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00p.m. (subject to change to meet the needs of the University).
