Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager conducts preventive, predictive maintenance and carpentry repairs. Responsibilities include the execution of facilities related renovations, painting, drywall repairs, and general construction and furniture repairs. All assigned tasks will be completed in a timely manner and meet all customer expectations. Respond to emergency requests, complete preventive and corrective work requests repairs through to completion
Job Description
Maintain shop work areas in a safe, clean operating condition and apply good housekeeping practices throughout the campus always. Â Report any unsafe campus conditions and take appropriate action as required to resolve noted problems.
Perform building inspection duties, painting, minor and major construction repairs
Maintain records, reports, recommendations and evaluations reflecting the conditions under which general building maintenance operations and upgrades are performed.
Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to coordinate working conditions with planning personnel and track resources/expenditures for all work performed.
Initiate the purchase of parts, materials, equipment, supplies etc., in accordance with company procedures and provide technical assistance when required to facilitate such purchases.
Assure these tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner.
Coordinate and make required modifications to building systems to satisfactorily support all users
Work with other trade skill sets to complete work orders to trade standards and customer expectations. Willing to continue both formal and informal training in the present skill set to maintain the knowledge of the present and latest technologies.
Completes all assigned Preventive and Corrective Maintenance work requests
Perform other duties as assigned to support C&W Services in delivering services to Eckerd College.
Follow all C&W Services and site-specific health and safety rules and regulations.
Coordinate and make required modifications to building systems to satisfactorily support all users
Basic Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalency.
Completed an accredited apprentice program and /or graduated from a tradeâ™s school a plus.
Must be willing to continue training in skill sets to maintain knowledge in the latest equipment and technologies.
Experience:
Five yearsâ™ experience as a carpenter
Have familiarity with building systems in educational facilities or other facilities of comparable size and scope
Must have strong knowledge of carpentry and construction methods, building systems and materials
Have the ability and willingness to work rotational shift, including days, evenings, nights as well as overtime, weekends and holidays as required
Able to operate golf carts and other motor vehicles
Understanding the importance of priority of work tasks
