Under the general supervision of a senior technician or supervisor, performs complex tasks that ensure the uninterrupted operations of mechanical systems and equipment. Inspects, tests, installs, fabricates, modifies, rigs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical systems and equipment. Mechanical systems and equipment include, but are not limited to: boilers, compressed gas systems, medical gas systems, backflow preventers, fire pumps, air compressors, laboratory and industrial kitchen HVAC/R equipment (e.g., ice machines, freezers, refrigerators), rotating equipment (e.g., compressors, pumps), drain, waste and vent systems, specialty water systems (e.g., chlorine dioxide, de-ionized water, reverse osmosis), domestic water systems, steam and condensate systems and plumbing fixt
