The incumbent in this position serves as the Deputy State Archaeologist within the Georgia Office of the State Archaeologist (OSA). Under the direction of the Georgia State Archaeologist, the primary duties of this position include management of the day-to-day activities of the OSA including the supervision of one staff member. The successful candidate will focus on managing workflow to provide archaeological technical assistance to the Parks and Historic Sites Division (PHSD) and the Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) concerning compliance with the Georgia Environmental Policy Act (GEPA) and state stewardship laws and partnering with PHDS staff to develop new and update existing interpretive signage, displays, and exhibits.
