Key Roles
Ensures the safe and proper inspection, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and components associated with the generation of electricity.
Key Responsibilities
Pulls conduit and wire.
Locates equipment such as electrical motors, components, and circuit grounds.
Cleans electrical motor components, breakers, and switchgear.
Tests electrical circuits.
Lubricates equipment such as motors, fans, gears, and valves.
Checks batteries.
Checks and replaces fuses.
Checks circuit breakers, motors, and precipitators.
Installs cable.
Uses test equipment such as amp probe and multimeter.
Operates mobile equipment such as boom truck, man-lift, tractor, and forklift.
Installs and maintains power plant electrical and electronic equipment and systems to ensure efficient operation.
Maintains electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with preventative maintenance programs.
Troubleshoots and repairs electrical and electronic equipment.
Maintains and repairs tools and equipment of required use for this position.
Assists plant operators and maintenance mechanics in performing preventative or scheduled maintenance and major/minor repairs on all Plant Equipment, which may require strenuous lifting, moving or use of tools or machines.

Pull cable and wire in conduit
Splice and terminate cable and wire
Cut/thread conduit
Bend conduit
Mount conduit
Crimp cable conductors
Install lighting

Remove and replace ballasts

Replace brushes on motor to 50 HP size

Key Requirements
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Two (2) year technical training or Associate degree in electrical or electronics field preferred.
Electrical Maintenance Foreman - Associates degree or two year technical degree in related area. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
Experience:
Three (3) years related experience preferred. Additional technical training may substitute for a portion of the experience requirement.
Electrical Maintenance Foreman - Five (5) years of related experience. Experience working in a leadership capacity is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of power plant process preferred.
Must be able to understand and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and instructional manuals.
Must be able to perform physically demanding operations and maintenance tasks.
Must be knowledgeable in the use of electrical test equipment and a variety of hand tools.

Working Conditions
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and live within one (1) hour of the Plant. May be required to work 12-hour rotating swing shift; scheduled and non-scheduled overtime is a normal part of the job.
This is an on-call position with a telephone required.
Must pass an aptitude test, physical ability test and follow procedures for wearing a respirator and other protective equipment.
Regular lifting up to 50 lbs. and occasional lifting over 100 lbs. Regular climbing and work at heights on ladders and stairs required, as well as above ground grating and platforms.
Work environment conditions include: noise, heat in excess of 100 degrees, gas emissions, chemical vapors, dust, high-pressure lines and high voltage equipment.
