Luling is a new 36-hole facility located 45 minutes west of San Antonio and an hour South of Austin. The 1,500-acre property is nestled in small town Texas and surrounded by cattle. The Kyle Franz design Course 1 is a bold, strategic layout that leans heavily into the site’s dramatic, rolling terrain. Franz used the natural movement of the land to shape wide barrancas, challenging angles, and greens that demand precision and imagination. Subtle ground contours influence every shot, rewarding players who keep the ball on the proper side of the fairway. In contrast, Course 2 brings a distinctively Scottish links sensibility to central Texas. Designed by OCM, the course embraces width, firm turf, and bold shaping, allowing the wind and natural elements to be ever-present strategic factors. Expansive fairways invite aggressive play, but well-placed sweeping bunkers, and large, undulating greens demand careful planning. With its open vistas and constantly changing conditions, Course 2 offers a pure links-style experience that feels different every time it’s played.
