The shift available for this position are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM from Monday through Friday. The ability to work overtime, evenings, and weekends as needed is required.

West Chester University Athletics is a NCAA Division II program and a member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. With 24 sports and approximately 600 student-athletes, it is among the largest athletic programs in NCAA Division II. The Department of Athletics prepares our student athletes for life-long success by providing opportunities for them to excel in the classroom, in competition and in the community. West Chester University utilizes nine top-notch facilities for its intercollegiate athletic programs and has played host to NCAA championship events, regional finals and conference titles.
Reporting to the Athletics Facilities and Operations Manager, the Operations Assistant supports the Equipment and Operations team in the areas of athletic equipment management, athletics grounds maintenance, home event management and supervision of facility rentals. The Operations Assistant also serves as the primary on-site contact for evening and weekend facility rentals.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a background in athletics; experience in athletic event management, equipment and laundry room operations, and athletic facility set up and maintenance; and excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to be a positive role model and representative of the university.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with the management of assigned home athletic contest including set-up and break-down of all venues for athletic contests, summer camps, facility rentals and special events
Collaborate with the Athletics equipment manager to provide support for 24 varsity teams including laundry services, inventory, distribution and collection and minor repairs of athletic equipment, uniforms, and apparel
Provide Athletics Grounds and Maintenance support including lay-out and lining of athletics fields for team practices, contests, special events and summer camps as needed
Serve as the primary on-site contact for evening and weekend facility rentals
Other duties as assigned
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Valid driver's license
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the tools and methods used in construction and maintenance of buildings, structures, roadways, and trails
Ability to read and interpret written material, including road or trail maps and instructions
Ability to understand and follow oral instructions
Ability to communicate effectively orally
Ability to communicate effectively in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Demonstrated background in Athletics as a player or staff member
Experience in athletics event management
Experience in athletics equipment room and laundry room operations
Experience in athletics facility setup and maintenance
