IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Agent will spend majority of shift working in the airport terminal environment. Position will be required to manage traffic flow on the curb and access roads and staff the airport communications center. Candidate will frequently interact, inform, and engage with passengers and terminal users to solve problems and maintain smooth operations.
• Manage and oversee the airport security and CCTV system. Attend to alarms, investigate security issues, and review video as directed by airport management.
• Coordinates safety and security measures with airport tenants, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and state and county public safety and emergency response agencies.
• Monitors and ensure safe vehicle operations on movement and non-movement areas.
• Schedule badging and fingerprinting appointments, and execute tasks related to SIDA badge issuance
• Assumes primary responsibility for wildlife control procedures and ensures compliance with the Authority’s Wildlife Hazard Management Plan and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Closes or places restrictions on airport operating areas to ensure operational safety.
• Represent airport authority in absence of management
• Issues notices to air missions (NOTAMs) to report all conditions that impact safe operations of aircraft and ensure that they are promptly communicated to the FAA, air carriers and other airport users.
• Assists in planning and coordinating use of facilities for dignitary visits and other special events.
• Enforces compliance with the airport rules and regulations and the airport security program.
• Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Aviation Management, Aviation Science, Business Administration, or other relevant field combined with experience in airport operations or administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Candidate must be able to pass required FBI fingerprint-based criminal history record check in addition to pre-hire and random drug and alcohol screenings.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Candidate has a “can-do” attitude and works well within a team and takes initiatives on new projects and take initiative on completing daily tasks.
- Candidate receives and responds to direction and assignments given by supervisors and management, and is also a self-starter, taking initiative when an issue is discovered.
- Thorough working knowledge of FAR Part 139, Part TSR 1542 and all other federal, state and local rules, regulations, standards and requirements governing air traffic, commercial and general aviation, airport safety and security, airport and movement area operating and maintenance standards, and other relevant matters.
- Thorough working knowledge of the practices and principles of airport administration, operations, security and airfield maintenance.
- Comfortable communicating on radios with Air Traffic Control and other agencies
- Working knowledge of building, grounds and airfield inspection practices and principles.
- Working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet and database applications software required to collect, compile, analyze and report data.
- Good English language usage skills, including spelling, punctuation, grammar and construction.
- Must be willing and able to perform a breadth and variety of different airport duties and special projects
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with Authority and other airport employees, representatives of other agencies and the public.
- Ability to interact positively and professionally with tenants, contractors, subcontractor employees, passengers, cargo shippers, community representatives and members of the general public from widely diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
