This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about mentoring student-athletes, building a strong team culture, and elevating a program through leadership, motivation, and strategic excellence. The Head Wrestling Coach will oversee all aspects of the Men's wrestling program, including long-term program development and the daily leadership of student-athletes—on and off the mat. These modern facilities provide an exceptional setting for training, strength and conditioning, and athlete development.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and develop the wrestling program with a clear vision for competitive excellence, academic success, and character development.
Design and implement effective in-season and off-season training programs, focusing on skill progression, strength and conditioning, and match strategy.
Recruit, engage, and retain student-athletes who embody BVU’s values and demonstrate strong academic and athletic promise.
Build a positive and disciplined team culture, emphasizing accountability, resilience, teamwork, and personal growth.
Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with the assistant coach, ensuring alignment in coaching philosophy and program goals.
Manage the program’s operational and fiscal budget, demonstrating strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
Serve as a role model for student-athletes by demonstrating sportsmanship, integrity, and a commitment to the overall student-athlete experience.
Demonstrated coaching experience with a successful record of developing and supporting student-athletes.
Strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills—ideal for coaches who excel at building relationships and inspiring athletes to reach their potential.
Ability to recruit strategically and competitively within the NCAA Division III model
