Under the general direction of the Vice President of Engineering, this position is responsible for assisting in the design, planning, optimization, and maintenance of Kenergy’s electric and fiber optic infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power delivery. Key responsibilities include contributing to the creation of construction work plans, supporting departmental budgetary functions, performing various system studies, ensuring rules and regulatory compliance, and managing, troubleshooting, and upgrading technology and distribution equipment as needed. The position investigates electric distribution and substation events or other disturbances to evaluate system performance and implements corrective action plans. The role is responsible for ensuring electric distribution and substation drawings and records are kept current and accurate and assists with maintaining the integrity of the electric distribution model.
The successful candidate must possess a BA in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university and either possess or capable of obtaining a Professional Engineer's Licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Familiarity with Milsoft Windmil engineering analysis software desired.
