Job Summary
The Bellarmine University Music Department seeks applicants to serve as an Adjunct Faculty member in Music Technology.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Teaching courses in the Music Technology curriculum. The instructor will work with all registered students to find a day and time for their weekly classes if listed "TBD" in the course schedule book. Attending Music Technology student recital dress rehearsals; attending Music Technology student recital performances; support Music Technology students as needed, and the candidates' schedule permits. The position may require some evening and weekend availability for student recitals and other performances. The position may require audio work for student, faculty, and guest performances as necessary, and the candidates' schedule permits.
Duties
Deliver instruction:
Conduct assigned curriculum. Prepare lectures and projects. Provide course syllabi, which include grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavior expectations, course outline, and contact information. Verify student enrollment and submit grades on time.
Evaluate student progress:
Keep an accurate record of student performance. Provide students with timely, constructive feedback.
Maintain virtual and/or in-person office hours to meet with students as needed. Maintain voicemail and email communication. Refer students to student support services when necessary. Other duties as assigned that pertain to the job description.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in music, composition, music technology, recording industry, audio engineering, or other related field. An advanced degree in music technology preferred. Ability to communicate with and teach students at all levels of musicianship. College teaching experience preferred. Commitment to the university and the music department's mission. Commitment to meeting the academic needs of all students. Knowledge of trends in the music technology, audio, recording, and music industry fields.
