The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) serves as both a gateway to the community and a key economic driver for southern Colorado. Covering more than 7,200 acres, COS is physically one of the largest airports in the country, almost as large as all three New York metropolitan area airports (JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark) combined. Counting three runways, including the fifth longest public commercial service runway in the country at 13,501 feet, COS has tremendous capacity and continued growth potential, all of which has led to a surge of growth in recent years. According to a study by the Colorado Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division, the annual economic impact of COS is more than $3.4 billion.
