Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Journeyman HVAC is to Install, Maintain, & Repair HVAC systems and equipment of College facilities following recognized procedures and techniques of the HVAC trade. The Journeyman HVAC will also Direct College Hired Contractors, Coordinate work with other trades and Participate in meetings and review College projects.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Three years of experience as a full-time HVAC Journeyman servicing, installing and maintenance of commercial/industrial HVAC equipment
Significant experience trouble shooting and operating of commercial building control systems
Demonstrated experience working with chillers, boilers, air handlers, and variable frequency drives
Universal refrigeration transition and recovery certification.
Must have 3 points or less on driving record with a valid MI driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
State of Michigan Journeyman HVAC License (Mechanical Contractor License)
Demonstrated experience with new construction and renovation as it applies to industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) projects
Demonstrated HVAC experience working on a school, college, or university campus
