JOB DUTIES Reporting to the Dean and Program Coordinator, adjunct faculty provides assistance to students in their learning process by utilizing all appropriate college resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies available to complement the teaching and learning process providing a direct impact to student success. MCCC is seeking Adjunct faculty member to support the Program. The position prepares and delivers classroom instruction for selected courses and serves as a valued member of the College.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. Deliver engaging and clear lecture-style instruction, (includes using technology such as; automated presentations, computer generated slides, videos, college online interface).
Assessment of student progress and success in the classroom and with individual course assignments.
Advise and mentor students through individual and group interactions
Develop and update syllabi, lesson plans, and course materials.
Align course objectives with institutional learning outcomes.
Provide hands-on lab instruction and supervision.
Record Attendance and timely grades and feedback for students
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
Attend workshops and training sessions on teaching methods.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and academic standards.
Participate in adjunct faculty meetings with course coordinator (once a semester)
Staff and support office hours for student consultation and tutoring.
Participate in required adjunct duties.

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Positions in this class typically require: ability to use a key board, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Knowledge and experience with Blackboard or other learning management system or similar learning/advising management systems
Understanding and commitment to serving a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and the campus community.
Ability to have final course grades calculated and submitted by the semester deadline as needed.
Skill in designing fair and rigorous assessments, including exams, essays, and evaluations.
Ability to provide constructive feedback to foster student improvement.
Ability to address classroom challenges, resolve conflicts, and adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic academic environment.
Effective use of instructional technology in the college classroom.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Photography, Fine Arts, or Art and Master's degree in Art History or Humanities from an accredited educational institution.
Demonstrated: ?mastery of technical skills related to operating film and digital cameras
Three (3) years' of experience teaching or working in Black and White Darkroom
Three (3) years of instructional experience teaching both in person and online courses
Three (3) years' of experience teaching or working with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
Three (3) years' of experience printing with pigment inkjet printers and color profiles
Proven instructional experience and dedication to student success
Master's in Fine Arts in Photography, Fine Arts, or Art from an accredited educational institution.
At least five (5) years teaching experience in Higher Education.
