Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Perform all preventive maintenance for an extensive fleet of turf equipment used to prepare a championship-level golf course, including reel mowers, fairway units, triplexes, rough mowers, tractors, sprayers, utility vehicles, and specialty equipment.
• Conduct precise reel and bed-knife grinding, setup, and adjustment to ensure tour-quality cut performance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel system problems across the equipment fleet.
• Maintain and calibrate sprayers and spreaders to ensure application accuracy critical for tournament conditioning.
• Conduct daily inspection and safe release of equipment prior to morning deployments.

Equipment & Shop Management

• Maintain a clean, efficient, and safety-forward equipment facility.
• Implement and manage a detailed preventive maintenance program with accurate service logs.
• Track parts usage, maintain inventory, and coordinate with local vendors for timely ordering and repair needs.
• Provide input on equipment replacement schedules and long-term capital planning to support tournament and year-round conditioning standards.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Work closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents to identify equipment needs for tournament preparation, major cultural practices, and daily course conditioning.
• Support daily operations by ensuring equipment is staged, operational, and ready for morning setup, especially during peak-season and tournament week.

Safety & Facility Standards

• Maintain strict adherence to environmental regulations, ensuring safe handling and storage of fuels, oils, and chemical-related materials.
• Manage proper disposal and recycling of filters, lubricants, and other shop materials.
• Maintain shop tools and ensure all safety guards and devices are operational.

Work Environment

The role is primarily based in the equipment shop but requires frequent on-course presence to support operations, especially during major maintenance events.   Early mornings, weekend coverage, and extended hours during tournament preparation are expected.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of mechanical experience with turf, agricultural, construction, or small engine equipment.
• Proficiency in reel mower setup, grinding, and adjustment.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills for gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read technical diagrams, service manuals, and operate diagnostic tools.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on a golf course or at a facility preparing for high-level tournaments.
• Familiarity with Toro, John Deere, and other equipment commonly used in golf turf management.
• Welding, fabrication, or machining skills a plus.
• Certifications or training in small engine repair, hydraulics, or related fields are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, or work in a shop setting and outdoor environments.
• Manual dexterity for precision adjustments and small component repair.
