Facility Overview

Crimson Reserve Golf Course is a premier, newly constructed golf facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Built during 2023–2024 and opened in Fall 2024, Crimson Reserve serves as the home practice facility for the University of Alabama men’s and women’s golf teams. The course features a new Toro equipment fleet and a modern maintenance operation.

Position Summary

Crimson Reserve is seeking an experienced Equipment Manager to oversee all aspects of golf course equipment maintenance and repair. This position is a valued member of the management staff and reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. The Equipment Manager plays a critical role in supporting daily operations and maintaining championship-level playing conditions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform all duties associated with a golf course mechanic

• Diagnose, service, and repair gasoline, diesel, electric, and hydraulic turf equipment

• Maintain, set up, and adjust all cutting units (reels, bedknives, height of cut, sharpening)

• Develop and manage a preventative maintenance program for the entire equipment fleet

• Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and parts inventory

• Coordinate equipment needs and scheduling with the Golf Course Superintendent

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance facility

• Assist with equipment purchasing and replacement planning as needed

Qualifications

• Previous golf course equipment management or golf course mechanic experience required

• Strong knowledge of turf equipment maintenance and repair

• Experience with reel grinding and cutting unit setup preferred

• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• Valid driver’s license required

Work Schedule

• Primarily Monday through Friday

• Some flexibility may be required during peak seasonal or special maintenance periods

About Crimson Reserve-UA Practice Facility

The proposed Golf Training Facility for the University of Alabama Women’s and Men’s programs will be one of the premier off-campus golf facilities in the country. Located on 176 acres south of Jack Warner Parkway, west of 25th Avenue NE and along each side of Kicker Road NE, its proximity to campus will make the facility conveniently accessible for the student athletes and coaches.The Project will include four buildings: the Golf House and Cart Barn at the Golf Practice Facility, and Comfort Station on the 9- Hole Golf Course, and a separate Golf Maintenance Facility. The exteriors of these structures will be in a Georgian Revival style that will include brick veneer, limestone, metal guardrails, and shingle roofs.The proposed project will give the University one of the top golf facilities in the Southeastern Conference and among Division I schools across the nation. This will continue to allow the Women’s and Men’s golf programs to attract and retain top student athletes. Additionally, this project will help maintain the elite status of our facility and brand nationally. The agronomy department is managed by Troon.
